Association of Geoinformation Technology (AgIT) was initiated in January, 2005 in Thailand. The aim of the association is to promote the geoinformation technology through scientific research and application for sustainable development and growth of the region. Founding members made a road map to achieve these objectives by launching the scientific journals, organising conferences, workshops and joint research activities. AgIT membership has two categories: Associate Members and Annual Members. There is no specific fee. Anybody who subscribes the International Journal of Geoinformatics is automatically granted the membership. Members enjoy the benefit of discounts on registration fee of the conferences/ workshops organised by the Geoinformatics International and also get a chance to be Reviewer and Member of the Editorial Board. The membership is ever growing since 2005. Members have also benefitted by excellent networking opportinties for their career growth and contributing towards the operationalisation of geoinformation technologies in the region. Geoinformatics International is the Publishing Company to support the activties of the members of AgIT. It supports managing publication of International Journal of Geoinformtics, edited volumes, and organising conferences and workshops.
